2021 Buick Encore GX and 2021 Buick Envision: What’s the Difference?

February 18th, 2021 by

Aside from the obvious size differences, the 2021 Buick Encore GX and 2021 Buick Envision both look pretty similar. However, there are some notable differences when it comes to engines, luxury features, and sticker price that separate them and make each a unique Buick offering. Read on for a look at what differentiates the Encore GX and Envision.

Engine offerings

The 2021 Envision offers a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, which is more powerful than either of the engines offered by the 2021 Encore GX. With a choice of either a standard 1.2-liter Turbo that produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque or the 1.3-liter Turbo with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft torque, you can decide what power level suits you best.

On the inside

Both SUVs accommodate five passengers, but the Envision is ahead when it comes to comfort and luxury. While the Enclave offers heated front seats, the Envision has available heated rear seating, heated and ventilated front seats, a massage feature in the driver’s seat, and a 10-inch diagonal touch screen available in the infotainment system. The Envision also offers more cargo space than the Encore.

The bottom line

As you might expect, the larger, more luxurious Envision is more expensive than its compact cousin, beginning at $32,995, while the Encore GX starts at $24,100. Both are solid family cars and the choice depends upon your personal budget.
